NexKit PDF Tools reads a PDF's own document-info metadata - title, author, subject, keywords, creator application, producer, creation date, and modification date - along with its page count and first page's size and rotation, and displays them directly in your browser.
This tool is read-only. It does not write, edit, or remove any metadata, and it does not modify or re-save your PDF in any way - your original file is untouched.
How to view PDF metadata
Open the PDF Metadata Viewer page and choose a PDF. The browser reads the document's own properties and displays them immediately - the whole process runs locally, with nothing uploaded.
Fields that are not present in a given PDF are shown as "Not set" rather than left blank or guessed.
Accuracy and limits
This MVP accepts PDF files up to 50MB. Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are rejected with a clear error, since their metadata is encrypted along with the rest of the document and cannot be read without the password.
These properties come from the PDF file itself, exactly as any PDF-authoring tool chooses to set them. They are not verified against any external source and can be inaccurate, missing, or edited by any PDF tool - treat them as a hint about a document's origin, not proof of authorship.
