Rotate & Flip Images Online
Rotate and flip JPG, PNG and WebP images locally in your browser. Apply 90° or 180° rotations, mirror images horizontally or vertically, and download files individually or as a ZIP.
What this tool does
NexKit Rotate & Flip Image rotates and mirrors supported JPG, PNG, and static WebP files locally in your browser. You can rotate clockwise 90°, counterclockwise 90°, rotate 180°, flip horizontally, flip vertically, or combine those operations.
The same transform is applied to every selected image in the current batch. Output keeps the original image format: JPEG stays JPEG, PNG stays PNG, and WebP stays WebP.
How to rotate and flip images
Open the Rotate & Flip Image page, choose one or more JPG, PNG, or static WebP files, then use the rotation and flip buttons. Rotation is applied first, followed by horizontal or vertical flip in the rotated output.
Run the transform, then download individual successful results or package successful and original-kept outputs as a ZIP. If the selected operations cancel each other out visually, the original file is kept instead of being needlessly re-encoded.
Supported operations
This MVP supports clockwise 90°, counterclockwise 90°, 180° rotation, horizontal flip, vertical flip, reset, and operation combinations. It does not support arbitrary angle rotation, text angle inputs, auto-straighten, perspective correction, crop, resize, background fill, or format conversion.
90° and 270° rotations swap image width and height. 0° and 180° keep dimensions unchanged. Flip operations do not change dimensions.
Supported formats
This release accepts JPG, PNG, and static WebP images. GIF, SVG, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, TIFF, BMP, unknown formats, animated WebP preservation, PDF rotation, crop, resize, and image format conversion are not part of this tool.
PNG and WebP transparency is preserved through the browser Canvas workflow when the source image has alpha. JPEG and WebP quality can be adjusted; PNG quality is not precisely controlled by browser Canvas.
Privacy and local processing
Images are rotated and flipped locally in your browser for this tool. NexKit does not upload selected images to a server, store image blobs in browser storage, or send file contents to a cloud image service for this workflow.
Canvas re-encoding usually does not preserve original EXIF, GPS, ICC, or other metadata. Identity transforms keep the original file without re-encoding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Rotate & Flip Image processes supported images locally in your browser. The selected files are not uploaded to NexKit servers by this tool.
Which formats are supported?
This tool supports JPG, PNG, and static WebP images. GIF, SVG, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, BMP, and unknown formats are rejected.
Can I rotate multiple images?
Yes. You can apply one shared rotation and flip setting to multiple supported images and download each output individually or together as a ZIP.
Can I rotate left and right?
Yes. The MVP supports clockwise 90°, counterclockwise 90°, and 180° rotation. It does not support arbitrary angle rotation.
Can I flip images horizontally or vertically?
Yes. You can flip horizontally, flip vertically, or combine flips with the selected rotation.
Can rotation and flipping be combined?
Yes. Rotation is applied first, then horizontal or vertical flip in the rotated output coordinate system.
Does rotation change image dimensions?
90° and 270° rotations swap width and height. 0° and 180° keep dimensions unchanged. Flipping does not change dimensions.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes. PNG and WebP alpha is preserved when the source image has transparency and the browser Canvas workflow supports it.
Does the tool preserve metadata?
Canvas re-encoding usually does not preserve original EXIF, GPS, ICC, or other metadata. This tool is not a metadata preservation workflow.
What happens if the selected operations cancel each other out?
If the normalized transform has no visual effect, such as 180° plus both flips, the original file is kept and included in downloads and ZIP files.
Can I download all results as a ZIP?
Yes. The ZIP download includes successful transformed files and original files kept for identity transforms. It is generated locally in your browser.
