Add Page Numbers to PDF Online

Add page numbers to a PDF online in your browser. Choose the page range, starting number, placement, size, margin, and color without uploading your PDF.

What this tool does

NexKit PDF Tools helps you add simple page numbers to a PDF before sending, printing, filing, or reviewing it. The MVP focuses on Arabic integer numbering, six common positions, and browser-side PDF editing for everyday documents.

You can number every page or enter a range, choose the starting number, and place the number near the top or bottom edge. The output keeps the original pages and overlays the selected page numbers.

How to add page numbers

Open the Add Page Numbers page and choose a PDF. After the browser reads the page count, review the first-page preview and configure the page range, starting number, placement, font size, margin, and color. Run the tool and download the numbered PDF.

Page ranges use viewer page numbers starting at 1. For example, all numbers every page, 3 numbers only page 3, and 1-3,5 numbers pages 1, 2, 3, and 5. Sparse selections are numbered sequentially in the selected page order.

Limits and formats

This MVP accepts PDF files up to 25MB and up to 300 pages. These limits are provisional while real-world and mobile validation continues. Password-protected PDFs, damaged PDFs, and files that exceed browser memory limits are rejected with a clear error.

The MVP uses Helvetica for Arabic integer page numbers. Advanced templates such as Page 1 of 10, roman numerals, prefixes, suffixes, headers, footers, and custom fonts are not included in this first version.

Privacy and file handling

Supported PDFs are processed locally in your browser. The selected PDF, generated numbered PDF, and PDF contents are not uploaded to NexKit servers for this workflow.

Review the downloaded result before sharing it, especially if the source has rotated pages, cropped pages, mixed page sizes, forms, bookmarks, or advanced annotations. Keep the original PDF until the numbered output is approved.
